Australian Speaks Brazilian Portuguese After 3 Months

Comecei a aprender português em fevereiro de 2020. Eu estava no hospital depois de quebrar meu braço e perna no México e quando saí depois de 3 meses, minha cidade foi trancada e eu fiquei encarcerado dentro de minha casa por mais 3 meses.
Por que português? Acredito que para aprender um idioma você deve se conectar com as pessoas e fazer amizades. Minha cidade, Gold Coast, Austrália, tem uma grande e amigável comunidade de brasileiros, então eu sabia que o português seria uma opção viável depois de aperfeiçoar o espanhol. No entanto, com a nossa cidade em quarentena e eu preso a recuperar na cama durante 3 meses, o que pude fazer foi aprender online com amigos virtuais e telefonemas.
O vídeo abaixo é como eu estava falando depois de 3 meses; antes de conhecer um brasileiro pessoalmente. No momento em que este artigo foi escrito, fazia 1 ano e 10 meses. Eu ensino inglês para brasileiros e falantes de espanhol na Gold Coast e acabei de anunciar uma viagem ao Brasil em 2022. Se liga aí, Brasil! Tô chegando!!

Hello world!
I started learning Portuguese in February of 2020. I was in hospital after breaking my arm and leg in Mexico and when I got out after 3 months, my city was thrown into lockdown and I was incarcerated inside my house for another 3 months.
Why Portuguese? I believe that in order to learn a language you should connect with people and create friendships. My city, the Gold Coast, Australia, has a large and friendly community of Brazilians so I knew that Portuguese would be a viable option after perfecting Spanish. However with our city under quarantine and me stuck recovering in bed for 3 months, I could do was learn online with virtual friends and phone calls.
This video below is how I was speaking after 3 months; before I had ever met a Brazilian speaker in real life. At the time of writing this, it has been 1 year and 10 months. I teach English to Brazilians and Spanish speakers on the Gold Coast and have just announced a trip to Brazil in 2022. Look out Brazil, here I come!
